Dermis (2025)
February 2025, BAC ART LAB, Leuven, Belgium
Silences puncture the weight of time. The hardest surfaces can be pierced too, but only wounds can heal. Scar tissue is permanent when left on metal, and so, the ongoing process of negotiating for space continues.
In dermis, surface becomes a contested site where force, memory, and resistance converge. The distinction between what can heal and what cannot underscores the asymmetry in how bodies and environments absorb violence. Scar tissue on metal becomes a metaphor for structural permanence—where some wounds become architecture.
